Interest in distance education in developed countries and many developing countries has grown to become part of their education systems for its potent force that can contribute to advancing economic and social development. That global interest in this type of education has appeared because of the massive developments that occur in the field of information and communication technology on one hand, and because of the urgent need to update the skills of human resources working on the other. That technology has become a tool used by communities to achieve human development in a global economy based on knowledge. Through this technology, it became possible to have quick access to sources of information through networking facilitated and beyond geographical and cultural borders of different societies and even exceed those limits even within the same society with its multiple levels. From this point, the current research paper comes to discuss the extent of benefit from the data of distance education, which has become of the requirements of the current era in the library and information science. that science which shares a dual relationship between itself and distance education to serve each other and provide each other with the mechanisms and data appropriate to manage and take advantage of them both.
