Abstract

This article aims at recognizing games in teaching distant use of university libraries, and also recognizing samples of these games used in university libraries and their evaluation. In addition, the paper aims at identifying the positive and negative aspects of the use of this tool in teaching university libraries, and designing a guide list of the elements of designing the game suitable for the university libraries in Egypt. The study depends on the descriptive method, and on a list of bibliography in collecting data. Of the most important conclusions of the study is that the library of Ohio State University is considered the first university to apply games. The best game that achieved the elements of game designing is the Quarantined Axl Wise game,most games have concentrated on dealing with the sources and  services of information in the library, followed by learning the methods of research in indices, and finally teaching the numbers of indexing of the Congress Library used in most university libraries.
